Accessibility Statement

Effective Date: April 2026 | Last Updated: April 2026

Eagles Cheer is committed to making our website accessible and welcoming to all visitors, including individuals with disabilities. We believe every family deserves equal access to information about our program.

What web accessibility is

An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating, and through assistive technologies.

OUR COMMITMENT

Eagles Cheer strives to ensure that eaglescheerlv.org is accessible to the widest possible audience regardless of technology or ability. We are actively working to improve the accessibility of our website in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

Our website is built on the Wix platform, which includes built-in accessibility tools and an accessibility checker that we use to identify and address issues. We are in the process of reviewing and resolving identified accessibility discrepancies to bring our site into greater compliance.

CURRENT ACCESSIBILITY STATUS

We are transparent about where our website currently stands. As of April 2026, eaglescheerlv.org is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines. This means that some areas of the site meet accessibility standards while others are still being improved.

Areas where we are working toward improvement:

  • Image alternative text — we are adding descriptive alt text to all images to support screen reader users

  • Color contrast — we are reviewing text and background color combinations to ensure sufficient contrast for low-vision users

  • Keyboard navigation — we are working to ensure all interactive elements are fully accessible via keyboard alone

  • Form labels — we are ensuring all form fields have clear descriptive labels for assistive technology compatibility

  • Accessibility features currently in place:

  • The site is navigable using keyboard tab controls

  • Page headings are structured to support screen reader navigation

  • The website is mobile responsive and adapts to different screen sizes and devices

  • Links include descriptive text where possible to clarify their destination

  • Documents linked from the website are provided in PDF format with readable text

STANDARDS WE ARE WORKING TOWARD

Eagles Cheer aims to conform to the following accessibility standards:

  • WCAG 2.1 Level AA — The internationally recognized standard for web content accessibility, covering perceivability, operability, understandability, and robustness.

  • Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act — Federal guidelines for accessible electronic and information technology.

  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) — We recognize the ADA's application to website accessibility and are working to meet its requirements.

THIRD-PARTY CONTENT

Some content and functionality on eaglescheerlv.org is provided by third-party platforms including Google Forms, Softr, and embedded social media content. While we work to select accessible tools, we do not have full control over the accessibility of third-party content. We encourage users who experience barriers with these tools to contact us directly so we can provide information in an alternative format.

OUR ONGOING EFFORTS

Accessibility is an ongoing commitment, not a one-time fix. Eagles Cheer is dedicated to:

  • Regularly reviewing our website using Wix's built-in accessibility checker and correcting identified issues

  • Updating this statement as improvements are made

  • Considering accessibility in all future website updates and content additions

  • Responding promptly to accessibility feedback from our community
